Philosophy

Philosophy as a category is the study of general and fundamental problems, such as those connected with reality, existence, knowledge, values, reason, mind, and language. Philosophy is distinguished from other ways of addressing such problems by its critical, generally systematic approach and its reliance on rational argument. The word "philosophy" comes from the Greek philosophia, which literally means "love of wisdom".

Épistémologie des services de renseignement

By: Nicolae Sfetcu; Nicolae Sfetcu

By: Nicolae Sfetcu

By: Dr. Lindsay Falvey

This miscellany of thoughts stimulated by books I have read was for my own purposes. As is normal, my thoughts today have moved on with time, yet they are useful for me to see where some ideas may have arisen. Whether seen as essays, a diary or a like a blog is of little concern to me, for it is just a convergence of my understanding and questioning and as such can seen repetitive.

UNIVERSAL CONSCIOUSNESS : The participatory universe: The particip...

By: Guru alexis karpouzos

The universe is not a world of separate things and events but is a cosmos that is connected, coherent, and bears a profound resemblance to the visions held in the earliest spiritual traditions in which the physical world and spiritual experience were both aspects of the same reality and man and the universe were one. The findings that justify this new vision of the underlying logic of the universe come from almost all of the empirical sciences: physics, cosmology, the li...

The Total Presence

By: Bruno Campello

The Total Presence is a new exhibition, conceived according to a different plan from the essential theses contained in the book de l’Être, which constitutes the first volume of the Dialectic of the Eternal Present. This work had seemed difficult to a certain number of readers: the same doctrine will be found here, reduced to a simpler line and, so to speak, ideal, relieved of all the particular issues that it risked sharing the attention, of all the technical issues t...

On the Psychology of Philosophy: An Introduction to Cognietrics

By: A. O. Deutsch

People have asked about the subject of my book, and how it is possible to calculate the definition of philosophical concepts such as knowledge and deduction from combinations of psychological aptitudes using abstract algebra. For this reason I would like to share with you one of the results calculated in my book. Myers-Briggs types are classified as: Introverted or Extraverted, iNtuitive (imaginative) or Sensing (realistic), Thinking (logical) or Feeling (emotional), an...

The Reason for Jungian Typology Heraclitus said, “if there is one thing that is immutable, it is change”. Naturally our responses to such an unpredictable idea differ as they evolve to meet it. We may ask: Should I be concerned with specific (Introverted) or general (Extraverted) change? This is important because the very concept of change implies degrees of change. Should I respond to change (Sensing) or initiate it (iNtuiting)? This is important because we are bot...

Have you ever wondered if the stranger sitting next to you held the answers to life's secrets?

"Actually the article covers the latest theory of what happened during the first second after the Big Bang occurred. Have you ever heard of the Big Bang?" "Of course I have," she said. "That's the creation myth of science, isn't it?"

Notes of an Underground Humanist

By: Dr. Chris Wright

In a decadent late-capitalist society, humanism is under attack from all directions. It's time we fought back and reclaimed what it means to be human, embracing the best of what history and thought have bequeathed us.

The world has changed since 2007, when I wrote the preface to the first edition of this book. That was still the age of capitalist triumphalism, of glacial politics in the U.S. and the Despair of the Activist. Cultural ennui—personal ennui for me. Aimlessness. Since 2008, though, and especially since 2011, life has taken on a new coloring. Horizons have opened; the world is in tumult, even more than it was, and nothing seems permanent anymore. Things have continued to ge...

By: Nicolae Sfetcu

A treatment of agriculture, food and related sciences as integral components of philosophy

Prologue This book deals with the transition from knowledge to wisdom. Wisdom justifies the use of the word philosophy throughout the text from its etymology of ‘the love of wisdom’, which across millennia has been interpreted as understanding of life. Such understanding is more than knowledge and in order to avoid more esoteric approaches to wisdom philosophy is discussed as integrating all knowledge including the sciences and experiential learning. I acknowledge at th...
