Philosophy

Philosophy as a category is the study of general and fundamental problems, such as those connected with reality, existence, knowledge, values, reason, mind, and language. Philosophy is distinguished from other ways of addressing such problems by its critical, generally systematic approach and its reliance on rational argument. The word "philosophy" comes from the Greek philosophia, which literally means "love of wisdom".

Sacred Books

By: M. Winternitz

THE period covered by the inception, the publication, and the completion of the Sacred Books of the East exactly coincides with the thirty-four years that I have spent in Oxford. When I matriculated, Professor Max Muller, the editor of the series, was about to begin work on the first volume, which appeared while I was still an undergraduate. I lost no time in making his acquaintance, for it was the influence of one of his works that had stimulated me to begin under Pro...

Habeltt sua lata libelli-not only after they have been published, but sometimes even before they are printed. It was in the spring of 1894 that the late Professor Max Muller first suggested to me that I should compile a General Index of the names and subject-matter for the complete series of the Sacred Books of the East. Such an Index, he thought, would be a great help to all students of the Sacred Books of tile East, and of the greatest value for the study of the history of religions.

Paradoxismul civic : Nonsensul Sensului: Nonsensul Sensului

By: Florentin Smarandache; Andrușa Vătuiu

Neutrosophic Dialogues

By: Florentin Smarandache; Feng Liu

Neutrosophy is a theory developed by Florentin Smarandache as a generalization of dialectics. This theory considers every notion or idea together with its opposite or negation and the spectrum of "neutralities" (i.e. notions or ideas located between the two extremes, supporting neither nor ). The and ideas together are referred to as . The theory proves that every idea tends to be neutralized and balanced by and ideas - as a state of equilibrium. In this book a ...

Neutrosophy in Arabic Philosophy : (Arabic version): (Arabic version)

By: Florentin Smarandache; Salah Osman

Examples of Neutrosophy used in Arabic philosophy: - While Avicenna promotes the idea that the world is contingent if it is necessitated by its causes, Averroes rejects it, and both of them are right from their point of view. Hence and have common parts. - Islamic dialectical theology (kalam) promoting creationism was connected by Avicenna in an extraordinary way with the opposite Aristotelian-Neoplatonic tradition. Actually a lot of work by Avicenna falls into the f...

СУЩНОСТЬ НЕЙТРОСОФИИ

By: Florentin Smarandache

Neutrality and Many-Valued Logics

By: Andrew Schumann; Florentin Smarandache

In this book, we consider various many-valued logics: standard, linear, hyperbolic, parabolic, non-Archimedean, p-adic, interval, neutrosophic, etc. We survey also results which show the tree different proof-theoretic frameworks for many-valued logics, e.g. frameworks of the following deductive calculi: Hilbert's style, sequent, and hypersequent. Recall that hypersequents are a natural generalization of Gentzen's style sequents that was introduced independently by Avron ...

Chinese Neutrosophy and Taoist Natural Philosophy

By: Florentin Smarandache; Jiang Zhengjie

While Taoism is based on the union of opposites, Neutrosophy considers the union of opposites and the neutralities in between them. We thought that the Neutrosophy and traditional Chinese Dialectics may be combined, and establish the Chinese Neutrosophy concept, with its premise about the existence of the universal absolute main body, whose existence may be theoretically proven through the establishment of Taoist Natural Philosophy.

Neutrosophic Interpretation of The Analects of Confucius

By: Florentin Smarandache; Fu Yuhua

This book is the companion volume of "Neutrosophic Interpretation of Tao Te Ching,” its purpose is to extend the foundation and application range of “The Analects of Confucius.” The reasons for this are as follows. Firstly, we are willing to point out that The Analects of Confucius already has some limitations, because many questions we are interested in cannot be answered within “The Analects of Confucius.” For example, The Analects of Confucius basically discussed the ...

Neutrosofia ca reflectare a realităţii neconvenţionale

By: Florentin Smarandache; Tudor Păroiu

By: Florentin Smarandache

In this book the author pledges for the generalization of the Lupasco-Nicolescu’s Law of Included Middle [, , and a third value which resolves their contradiction at another level of reality] to the Law of Included Multiple-Middle [, , and , where is split into a multitude of neutralities between and , such as , , etc.]. The value (i.e. neutrality or indeterminacy related to ) actually comprises the included middle value. Further, similarly to the extension from dial...

By: Florentin Smarandache; Andrușa R. Vătuiu

This book contains concrete examples from history, economy, biology, digital world, nuclear physics, agriculture and so on about breaking a neutrosophic dynamic system (i.e. a dynamic system that has indeterminacy) from inside. We define a neutrosophic mathematical model using a system of ordinary differential equations and the neutrosophic probability in order to approximate the process of breaking from inside a neutrosophic complex dynamic system. It shows that for bre...

Free Will Under the Light of the Quran : (Free Will In Islam), Vol...

By: Ender Tosun

This free and very detailed e-book explains free will in Islam and according to the Quran. It proves free will experimentally. It answers all key questions including free will and divine knowledge (omniscience).

In this book, I tried to address important issues that relate to free will power in accordance with the Quranic teaching. An important aspect of the free will power is its irreducibility to other things and the irreducibility of the agent who exercises free will power. The irreducible and distinct agent interacts with his parts and other things. Hence, within a range, he can overcome the effects of other factors, and he can determine one of the two alternatives as the ...

Man's Fate and God's Choice: An Agenda for Human Transformation

By: Bhimeswara Challa

Stagnate as a 'creepy caterpillar' or transform into a 'beauteous butterfly'-this path-breaking book of a rare genre suggests-is the seminal choice before mankind, and every one of us. In this setting, the book raises some fundamental questions: What is man's rightful place in the cosmos and his manifest destiny on earth? Why are we so self-righteously self-destructive? Are we a doomed species? Or 'divine' beings struggling to overcome the hubris of the human intellect? ...

Chapter 1 Man in Context God gotten weary of Man! The turn of any millennium is always a time for thoughtfulness, a rugged moment for intrepid introspection, a hinge of history for an honest audit of human conduct, for a moral inventory of our presence on earth, a juncture for a steadfast look at a nebulous — and numinous — stage in the life of our blessed (and baffling) species. Although it is but a twinkle in the cosmic calendar and a trifling stretch in the geo...

By: Immanuel Kant

This entirely new translation of Critique of Pure Reason is the most accurate and informative English translation ever produced of this epochal philosophical text. Though its simple, direct style will make it suitable for all new readers of Kant, the translation displays a philosophical and textual sophistication that will enlighten Kant scholars as well. This translation recreates as far as possible a text with the same interpretative nuances and richness as the original.

“Thoughts without content are empty, intuitions without concepts are blind.” “Man must be disciplined, for he is by nature raw and wild..”

Bhagvad-Gita Treatise of Self-Help

By: BS Murthy

Bhagavad-Gita is the most beautiful, perhaps the only true philosophical song existing in any known tongue – so opined William von Humboldt, who wrote seven-hundred verses in its praise. It is a matter of consensus that Bhagvad-Gita in the present length of seven hundred slokas has many an interpolation to it, but no meaningful attempt has ever been made to delve into the nature and extent, not to speak of the effect of these on the Hindu society at large. The m...

All about Life - Chapter 2 This character defining chapter of the Gita comprising 72 slokas, known as saankhya yoga, Realization through Knowledge, is regarded by many, as the peerless part of the great epic. Arjuna’s dilemma, meanwhile, turns into grief, as the horrific prospect of slaying Bhishma, his revered granduncle, and Drona, his venerated guru, sinks into his consciousness. Bogged down by sentiment, Arjuna appeals to Lord Krishna for guidance. The Lord’s respon...
