Adventure

In fiction, the adventurer figure or Picaro may be regarded as a descendant of the knight-errant of Medieval romance. Like the knight, the adventurer roams through episodic encounters, usually involving wealth, romance, or fighting. Unlike the knight, the adventurer was a realistic figure, often lower class or otherwise impoverished, who is forced to make his way to fortune, often by deceit. Also, an adventurer is a roguish hero of low social class who lives by his or her wits in a corrupt society.

Temazcal en el vientre de la Madre Tierra

By: Juan Fonseca

A Gondolier of Dogmatic Fallacies

By: J. Greg Deane

Agitalancia has no time for consistency or determined outcomes, at least those planned by human mortals. He frequently calls on saints and philosophers to support his own views, though to do so he is usually obliged to mangle or invert the meanings of the words he quotes. An example of his manipulation of philosophers occurs when he cites Epicurus: Recall the teachings of Epicurus, the philosopher whose reasoning is least tarnished by error,” directed Gregorio. “The firs...

As he spoke he beheld a light in the heavens and a glitter of lamps, but nothing else. His hearers were amazed at what had occurred. His usual caution left him and he walked out into the storm. When he returned, he was wearing a purple robe, tied with a golden girdle. He wore bronze slippers on his feet and a wreath of laurel crowned his head. He found there was a general consternation regarding his whereabouts. He bade them take no further trouble, for things beyond exp...

The Robbers' Hill Chambal

By: Ravi Ranjan goswami

Away from the gang rivalry, politics, and bloodshed that prevailed in the main Chambal area, in one corner of the Chambal region itself, was a village named Robbers’ Hill. Kailash Pandey lived there. The twenty-year-old young man looked like any other young man. He was five feet eight inches tall, fair, and had a well-built body. He was not educated, but he had learned how to read and write Hindi. Kidnapping for ransom was his profession. Since childhood, he has grown up...

He asked Parvati casually, "Whom will you marry? Shakti Singh, or me?" Parvati got up and looking at Kailash, retorted, “I will not marry any robber.”

Waters, skies, and feelings. A photoalbum

By: Florentin Smarandache

“During my many trips around the world, I sometimes captured images of waters and skies, mostly in conjuction, and associated them with not very common English words – in an attempt to describe the instant feelings which the visual sceneries transmitted to me. In this photoabum, I amalgamated images from a trip to France and England made in May – July 2010, and from two trips to Central America (Panama, Costa Rica, Nicaragua in December 2010 - January 2011; and Dominica...

Neutrosophic Evolution as extension of Darwin’s Evolution: The Cav...

By: Florentin Smarandache

This photoalbum presents images from the caves the author visited in the Southwestern United States, and wants to popularize the theory of neutrosophic evolution (degrees of evolution, indeterminacy, and involution), offering new evidences in favor of it, extracted from biospeleology.

During the process of adaptation of a being (plant, animal, or human), to a new environment or conditions, the being partially evolves, partially devolves (degenerates), and partially is indeterminate i.e. neither evolving nor devolving, therefore unchanged (neutral), or the change is unclear, ambiguous, vague, as in neutrosophic logic. Thank to adaptation, one therefore has: evolution, involution, and indeterminacy (or neutrality), each one of these three neutrosophic c...

Dor. Fotoalbum

By: Florentin Smarandache

Antelope Canyon is a scenic canyon in Arizona state, USA, on Navajo land, near city of Page, including two sections, The Crack (Upper Antelope Canyon), and The Corkscrew (Lower Antelope Canyon), accessible only via guided tour; it is the photographer’s dream, but photography is very difficult due to the exposure range (10 EV or more). Carved from the sandstone for millennia by flood rains and wind, Antelope Canyon - one of nature's most wondrous creations - is located...
